Hi, hello and howdy, and welcome back to Tiny Sidecar. I'm Kate, your host in Sidecar Sidekick, and my friends, welcome to season two. Today's a little mini episode to get an intro for what to expect with this upcoming season and just for a little catch-up, I think. So why don't you grab your favorite cup of coffee and let's get right into it, shall we? Why, hi friends, and welcome back to Tiny Side Gar. It is a long overdue. Hello. I know that I've been missing you guys, so hopefully you have been missing these episodes too. Unfortunately, when I got back from Mexico, I got really sick and have just recovered, which is bizarre, but also great to be on the other side of being sick. Nothing to do with the trip, all to do with my sinuses. We love to see it. We hate to see it. And we also adopted a cat and his name's Kobe, and he's just a little baby kitten, and he is actually curled up behind me right now, somehow taking up half of this chair. But you can't move him. If he's sleeping, you don't move. If he's sleeping on you, you're stuck there for hours at end sometimes. Um, anyway, he's with us right now, and he is such a great addition to our house. It's been a while since we've had a pet, and I have lived with a couple cats and absolutely adored being around them, and it just it all worked out in the best way. So, anyway, fully back in the sidecar see, and could not be more excited about what season two is going to bring us. Now, just to give you a sneak peek of where we're headed, and I'm guessing that you probably can guess as well, but season two is going to be all about an official recap of the Women Powered Coffee Summit and sharing the stories that those women shared with me while I was down there. Now, Tiny Sidegar was amazingly invited to come down and try to elevate more women's voices throughout the whole weekend. And I was so nervous that no one would want to participate in this, and ultimately it became more successful than I could even tell you. And also incredibly validating that Tiny Sidecar needed to exist. So Tiny Sidecar was invited to be a part of something called the Ideas Marketplace. And there were four sessions of the Ideas Marketplace throughout the course of the weekend, and each session was about an hour long. All I did was set up a very minimal booth with my trusted microphone and computer, and simply asked women to share their perspective on the coffee industry, what they're passionate about in the coffee industry, their story relating to coffee, or whatever they wanted to share. And of those four sessions, pretty much the whole time I had someone sitting at the mic and telling me their story. A mix from importers to roasters to producers, a lot of producers, which I'm so excited to share more producers' voices with you. Um, to some people that now feel like very close, lifelong friends. And it was such a validating experience to know that these women just wanted someone to listen to their perspective and to hear them. And I had the very easy job of just sitting there and listening to so many beautiful, beautiful stories. Now, these stories were captured in both English and Spanish, and so in the upcoming episodes, you'll hear a mix of both languages. I think it's important, even if you don't fully understand one of the languages, to try to sit and listen through the whole story. You can hear the emotion and the passion in the women's voices as they tell their perspective, and I think that alone makes it worth it. But more on that to come. I'm also hoping to do some translation for some stories, but I'm a little nervous to translate because I don't want to take anything away from the actual story spoken by the woman that wanted to tell it. So, more on that to come. We'll figure it out together. But yeah, that is what season two is going to be all about is launching into lots of women's stories. And I'm so incredibly excited to share them with you. So, thank you as always for being here. And if you want to connect and if you want to share your story, you can always find me at Tiny Sidecar on Instagram, and you can always email me at howdy at tiny sidecar.com. I'm so excited for this. I hope you are too. Check back in next week. Bye guys.
